Aquanauts Dive Centre is Sunderlands original PADI Dive Centre offering a full retail outlet and courses for all. Aquanauts Dive Centre has been trading for nearly 5 years now, offering a friendly and professional service offering a full range of PADI and technical courses. We also organise trips abroad and outings closer to home and also boat dives every wednesday evening (May - September) aboard the MV ABYSS.

Also from March 2009 we are now offering a full range of PSATechnical Diving courses. If you are looking to participate in the increaseingly popular area of technical diving, from basic nitrox upto and including rebreather and trimix courses then we are able to provide this service for you.

So why learn to dive with us?

The idea from the start was to make the Dive Centre somewhere you can pop in and have a coffee and chill out, and of course talk about every diver’s favourite subject diving. Also we firmly believe that we offer the best value for money courses in the North East

At Aquanauts we make learning a fun and enjoyable experience and also centre the training around you and what best fits your needs. There are no hidden costs, the price you see is the price that you pay. Also there is no pressure or expectation for you to buy any equipment for your course as it is all provided in the published price (unless stated ), however if you do wish to buy your own equipment then we have a fully stocked shop for you to choose from.

We also provide (free of charge) all transport to and from the Pool sessions, Openwater Courses and Local dives (transport for other courses and trips to further afield dive sites may be liable to a fuel surcharge, but this is still miles cheaper than taking your own car ) which makes the cost of learning to dive with us much cheaper and better value than learning with our competitors.

We also believe that we are the only dive centre in the northeast to provide this service .

Once you have qualified the fun doesn't stop there, we organise trips to Sharm el Sheikh twice a year and also have regular trips away either for the day or the weekend and during April to September we also charter a boat on Wednesday evenings to dive the many wrecks that can be found off our coast, for the Wednesday night boat dives we ask that you are a minimum of an Advanced Openwater Diver.

For those who are not yet an Advanced Openwater Diver, we offer escorted local shore dives free of charge. All you have to pay for is your air and any kit you require to hire.

All divers and non-divers are welcome at Aquanauts Dive Centre, affiliation does not matter a diver is a diver so the agency they dive under is not a factor. We strive at Aquanauts Dive Centre to be safe and to have fun at the same time which makes us the best choice for those wishing to learn to dive.
